Why Texas Iron Spikes?

ZACHARY NELSON - FALL ‘19

When I joined Texas Iron Spikes, I just figured it was a good way for me to be involved on campus and in the community. It turned out to be so much more than that. The bonds and friendships I’ve made in this organization will last me a lifetime. Spikes has provided me with so much growth and has helped turn me into the individual I am today. I’m getting a little older so some of my rookie class has diverged paths, but the memories and experiences that we had together will never fade.

ANDRES VIEIRA - SPRING ‘21

Texas Iron Spikes was a great way for me to branch out during my college experience and meet a lot of different guys at UT. I had really only been around engineers since coming to Austin, but Spikes was a great way to make bonds with a really diverse group of people. As an active, I’ve continued to make connections with older members than have given me a lot of insight as to what I can expect as I progress through my college career. Even now, I’ve been given the opportunity to connect with UT Alumni that used to be in Iron Spikes and talk to them about their experience in the engineering industry.

BIX BRADLEY - FALL ‘21

I chose Texas Iron Spikes because of the true sense of brotherhood within the organization. Brotherhood is a pillar of the Iron Spikes and these guys stay true to it. Everyone within the organization really cares for you, and are some of the most genuine guys on campus. Spikes has given me the opportunity to be a part of a good group of guys oriented on bettering their community and future, without sacrificing fun.
